Police apprehend motorist with stolen Grandview car tab

PROSSER - A enton County Sheriff's deputy apprehended a 22-year-old Prosser man last Thursday afternoon who was driving a pick-up truck that had a license plate tab stolen from a vehicle in the Grandview area.

Further inspection of the black, Ford Courier pick-up revealed that the vehicle identification number on the truck had been removed, and that the pick-up had been hot-wired.

During the traffic stop, warranted by an expired vehicle license, the deputy also found the motorist to be in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine and burglary tools.

The motorist, Derek D. Knight, was taken into custody and booked into the Benton County jail.
