Parents receive phone call from missing daughter

The parents of a 13-year-old girl, reported missing last Sunday night, are resting a bit easier today (Friday) after having received a phone call from their daughter last night.

"She sounded OK," said her father, George Redick. But, as of press-time today the girl had not yet returned home.

Redick said he plans to meet with Sunnyside police officers today before making any further comments about his daughter's situation.

A Chief Kamiakin Elementary School student, Rebecca Redick reportedly disappeared about noon this past Saturday. She still hadn't returned home as of Sunday evening when she was reported to police as a runaway.

Early reports indicated the young teen may have been in the company of an older male teenager.

Anyone with information about the girl's whereabouts is encouraged to call the Sunnyside Police Department at 837-2120 or her parents at 837-3016 or 840-2524.
