SIED grant to be used for road improvements in Granger

GRANGER - Tuesday morning, Yakima County commissioners voted to execute a SIED contract with the City of Granger to help fund a study on planned improvements to the roads surrounding the North Granger industrial area.

Yakima County Director of Community Services Steve Hill explained that the $20,000 SIED grant will be used to facilitate a study of the feasibility, cost, design and placement of planned road, water and sewer improvements to the areas along Ruehl Road, North Granger Road and Second Avenue. He noted that the planned improvements will help serve the industrial area and accommodate truck traffic between it and Interstate 82.

The project is being completed with city, private and county funds, including the SIED grant.
