John “David” Barnett, 68, of Yakima died Saturday, May 14,
He was born Oct. 1, 1936 in Toppenish to Melvin and Alice
(Brayton) Barnett. He received his education and graduated with the Toppenish
High School class of 1954. He joined the Air Force after graduation and was
stationed in Germany. He attended college after being discharged, earning his
BA in accounting. He retired from the Washington State Department of Revenue.
He is survived by nine brothers and sisters, Frank (Lena)
Barnett of Yakima, Joanne (Herman) Liebrecht of Moses Lake, Bill Barnett of
Mabton, Gene (Helen) Barnett of Sunnyside, Mike (Becky) Barnett of Yakima,
Virginia Barnett of Seattle, Grace (Donald) Wagoner of Yakima, Mary Jane (Rod)
Thysell of Lyle and Joe (Marsha) Barnett of Goldendale; and numerous nieces and
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May
19, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Toppenish, with interment
to follow at Zillah City Cemetery. Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory,
Yakima, is in charge of arrangements.
