SELAH - The Sunnyside JV football team used a strong running game and a dominating defense to control the game clock and beat up on Selah by a score of 32-6.
Sunnyside's Danny Alvarez got things going with a 2-yard touchdown run to make it 6-0 after the kick failed.
In second quarter action, Gibby Briones hauled in a 20-yard touchdown pass from Arian Cantu. The extra point was missed again and, with a touchdown by Selah, the Grizzlies went into half-time with a 12-6 lead.
In the third quarter Cantu called his own number and scampered 13 yards for a score. Alvarez made good on this attempt and the score was 19-6.
In the fourth quarter Briones scored another touchdown for the day, this time catching a 70-yard pass from Cantu. With the score 25-6, Cantu ran for 20-yards for his second TD of the day.
Alvarez finished with 130 yards rushing on 28 carries with one rushing TD. Briones had 4 catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Cantu completed 5 passes for 135 yards and threw for two touchdowns while also running for 33 yards for two scores.
