Santiaga Maltos, 100, of Albany, Ore. died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, in Albany.
She was born July 25, 1905, in Mexico, the daughter of Mateo and Virginia Vega. She and her family moved to Edinburg, Texas in 1918. She married Pedro Maltos in Mexico. They moved to Crewport in 1947. Her husband, Pedro, passed away in 1949. She continued to reside in Granger, settling in Albany in 1994, where she lived with her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria Alvarez of Albany; a son, Rafael of Granger; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Herminio, Cornelio and Juan.
Services will be held Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at 6 p.m. at Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Recitation of the Rosary will be held Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Granger. Interment will be held at Sunnyside Memorial Park, Sunnyside. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
