For many, the Veterans Day holiday means a long weekend skiing or traveling to get-away destinations. With that in mind, the Washington Department of Transportation remind motorists to check travel conditions before venturing out.
They can do this by calling 511 or visiting 111.1sdot.wa.gov/traffic. The web site and hot line offer the most recent updates.
Following is travel information for mountain passes:
I-90/Snoqualmie Pass-Open one lane in each direction following rock slide near mile post 58. Speed limit is 35 mph in the work zone with over wide vehicles not allowed. Travelers are advised to use alternate routes, such as Stevens Pass (US 2) and White Pass (US 12) to help ease delays and backups.
Cayuse Pass/SR 410/123-North of the pass summit, SR 410 is closed from south of Crystal Mountain Blvd. at the Mount Rainier National Park boundary. South of the pass summit, SR 123 is closed at Steven Canyon Road. Access to the Crystal Mountain Ski resort from SR 410 remains open.
Chinook Pass/SR 410-Chinook Pass is closed from the intersection of SR 123 (west of the pass) to Morse Creek, east of the summit.
North Cascades Highway/SR 20-The North Cascades Highway is closed from seven miles east of Diablo Dam (MP 134) on the west side of Rainy Pass to nine miles west of Mazama (MP 171) on the east side of Washington Pass.

With a razor clam dig authorized, motorists may want to check the following:
SR 4 (Ocean Beach Highway-at the Washington Way intersection in Longview, left lane closures may occur in each direction of SR 4 on Friday, Nov. 11, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Washington Way intersection. The work schedule depends on the weather.
SR 4 (Ocean Beach Highway)-Between 28th Avenue and Nichols Boulevard in Longview, right land closures may occur on westbound SR 4 Friday, Nov. 11, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Intermittent single-lane closures may also occur eastbound for utility line replacement. Work depends on weather.
US 101- At Potters Slough in South Bend there will be short duration single lane closures for earthwork and curb installation on Friday, Nov. 11, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists can expect minor delays.
SR 105-At the North River and Smith Creek bridges (MP 10.05 to 10.70) daytime lane closures will result in single lane alternating traffic Friday, Nov. 11. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.
SR 6-At the Fern Creek Bridge near Frances (MP 16.77) daytime lane closures will result in single lane alternating traffic Friday, Nov. 11. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.
