MABTON - The Mabton City Council released partial projections of 2006 revenues for next year's budget at Tuesday night's meeting.
The revenues were incomplete because the city has yet to add grants it will receive to the revenue totals.
The preliminary draft released Tuesday showed balanced budgets in all funds except for the cemetery fund.
"The cemetery fund is running pretty tight right now," City Administer Ildia Jackson said. "Revenues are down. We will review our expenses and see what can be done."
If there is an increase in funerals this year or if more people buy plots, the fund just might budget itself.
Besides the cemetery fund, the overall operating budget is looking good.
"We're looking a little better than the past two years but it's still a tight, no frills budget," Jackson said.
The Nov. 29 budget workshop has been canceled. The next meeting will be on Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. That's when the final numbers for the 2006 budget will be presented and the budget will be adopted the following week on Dec. 13.
