Grandview runs to fifth place in Pasco

PASCO - The Grandview cross-country team traveled to Pasco last Saturday for the Pasco Big Cross Invite.

Moses Lake won the event with 44 points while Grandview came in fifth with 119 points.

Pasco's Jesse Lane took first place honors for the boys with a time of 17:19.

Jose Mendez finished seventh for Grandview in 18.59. Marco Diaz took 26th with a time of 21.07 and Kalen Nelson followed in 27th place, running a 20.59 time.

Shay Seimier's time of 22.14 was good for 29th and Spencer Blanshan snagged 34th place with a time of 24.07.

Grandview's Brittnee Sanchez led the race for the girls all the way until the last 200 yards to lose to Connell's Christine Casper.

Casper had a time of 20.38 while Sanchez finished in 20.54.

"We're getting better," said Grandview Coach Jim Pillers. "We're not where we need to be right now but all of our kids are improving and that's what's important."
