FEDERAL WAY - The Sunnyside girl' got some good experience last weekend, competing against 27 teams at the Mukilteo Invite in Federal Way.
Baliey Morris, Julianna Robert, Katie Knee and Megan Razey swam the 200 medley relay in 2:22.16. That was good for 50th place.
Hannah Glockner's time of 2:40.75 in the 200 freestyle garnered her a 70th place finish.
Rachelle Durfey placed 32nd in the 50 freestyle. Durfey swam a time of 27.62, followed by Knee's time of 27.71, which was good for 34th and Razey's 32.56. She finished in 117th place.
Robert also swam the 50 freestyle, finishing in 162nd place with a time of 41.22.
Knee's time of 59.84 in the 100 freestyle was good enough to get her 18th place, while Durfey and Morris finished with times of 1:04.83 and 1:08.99, respectively.
In the 200 freestyle relay the Sunnyside girls had a time of 2:13.60. Durfey, Robert, Razey and Glockner finished in 57th place.
In the 100 backstroke Morris had a time of 1:24.18.
Three swimmers competed in the 100 breaststroke for Sunnyside. Glockner finished with a time of 1:27.53, Razey with 1:30.28 and Robert's time of 1:36.51 was good for 98th place.
Durfey, Knee, Morris and Glockner took 37th place with a time of 4:39.45 in the 400 free relay.
"Everyone was able to have a good race," Scott Southard, coach of the Lady Grizzlies, said. "I think that was a good experience for the girls."
All three swimmers in the breaststroke did well, Southard said. They're working on different ways to improve and I think they used them all in the race.
