The shots were there, but the Sunnyside's girls soccer team came up empty-handed in a 1-0 home loss to Ellensburg on Tuesday.
"We looked great ,we controlled the game and played the game on our attacking third," observed Coach Kathy Jolliff. "But we didn't put it in the net. We would be within 25 yards so we would shoot or we would make a beautiful cross but no one took the responsibility to finish the play by putting the ball in the net."
For the game, the Lady Grizzlies outshot Ellensburg 12-8, but it was the visiting Bulldogs who found the back of the net in the 25th minute for the win.
Sunnyside (2-5, 3-8) travels to Wapato this Thursday.
