Board approves contract with Nuestra Casa
Nuestra Casa will be overseeing the school and parent phone
tree for the Sunnyside School District, thanks to a contract recently approved
by the Sunnyside School Board.
According to the contract, Nuestra Casa personnel will work
15 hours a week for the district. The contract is effective through June 30,
2006, and calls for Nuestra Casa to be paid $13,500.
Contract with consulting firm approved
The Sunnyside School Board approved a contract with RGI
Corporation of Sunnyside.
According to the contract, RGI will collect data on the
effectiveness of the Grizzly Success Academy, which was held this past August.
The contract is effective through July 31, 2006, and is for
Elementary principals to receive mentoring
Elementary school principals in the Sunnyside School
District will be receiving mentoring during the 2005-06 school year.
Last week the Sunnyside School Board approved a contract
with Audrian Huff of Moses Lake, to provide mentoring services to principals in
The contract provides for 10 days of mentoring during the
current school year at a cost of $500 a day, in addition to expenses. The
contract is effective through July 30, 2006.
The Sunnyside School Board approved a contract, which will
bring Sunnyside's Barbara Merz into the district to serve as a speech-language

the district will pay Merz $47 an hour for seven hours per day for a maximum of
Teachers to receive Corrective Reading training
Teachers at Chief Kamiakin Elementary School, Sunnyside High
School and PRIDE High School will be receiving a little extra help this year
when it comes to the Corrective Reading program.
The Sunnyside School Board approved a contract with Tara
Ebey of Spokane to provide training and assistance to the three schools during
the 2005-06 school year.
The contract is effective through June 30, 2006 and is for
$600 a day for up to 26 days.
