Agustin Alejandro Tovar, 71, of Woodburn, Ore. and formerly of Sunnyside, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, in Woodburn, Ore.

He was born Feb. 5, 1934, in Bustamante, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Manuel and Catarina Tovar. He was the oldest of eight children. Agustin was a free spirit, who loved people and enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Gloria Tovar; his two children, Connie Tovar-Mendez of Wenatchee and Agustin Tovar, Jr. of Grandview; four brothers, Dolores Tovar of Sunnyside, David Tovar of Woodburn, Ore, Manuel Tovar, Jr. of La Quinta, Calif. and Luis Tovar of Palm Springs, Calif.; four sisters, Lupe Berman of Reynosa, Tamps, Mexico, Esperanza Mendoza of Gervis, Ore., Juanita Soto of La Quinta, Calif. and Consuelo Tovar of Indio, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Aziza Mendez. He is also survived by a large extended family and many beloved friends.

He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Recitation of the rosary will be recited Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Sunnyside Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside. Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside, is in charge of arrangements.
