GRANDVIEW - The Lady Greyhounds soccer team continued its winning ways this past Saturday with a 2-0 home win over Connell in CWAC action.
"We took control of things early and never let up," Grandview Coach Anne Holden said of her team, which outshot the visiting Eagles 15-4.
Last Saturday's shutout avenged a 2-1 loss to Connell earlier in the season.
Senior Liz Orduno scored her first-ever goal for Grandview in the 17th minute to give the Lady 'Hounds a 1-0 lead.
Anna George kept the pressure on Connell with a goal in the 32nd minute off an assist from Miranda Shreeve.
Grandview, which in many games has had to rally from behind, played with purpose from beginning to end, noted Holden.
"It was very nice to score early and keep them at bay," she said.
Grandview (3-5, 3-8) has now won two league games in a row and, according to Holden, needs to win at least two of its final four to wrap up a district berth.
Next up is Naches tomorrow, who Grandview lost to earlier this year on a pair of own-goals.
"Our feeling in camp is maybe you wouldn't want to play us again," Holden said of Tuesday's re-match at Naches. "We are not the same team we were earlier in the season."
