Pearl B. Stokes-Stilwater, 88, of Sunnyside entered her heavenly home, into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005.

She was a resident at Hillcrest Manor in Sunnyside. Pearl was born Feb. 28, 1917 to Mary Pashisnyck and Mike Babnick in Wilton, N.D.

Pearl graduated from Puyallup High School in 1935. In February 1944 she married Allen L. Stokes. In the late 1950s, and through the 70s, she ran a cake decorating and catering business in Yakima, and she was always a homemaker. In 1984, she married Herman Stilwater.

She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and traveling. Her favorite spot was the Hawaiian Islands, which she visited 10 times. Pearl was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Yakima, the Royal Neighbors of America and several card clubs.

She is survived by her son, Dean (Wanda) Stokes of Sunnyside; step children, Jim (Carin) Stilwater of Yakima, Mary Jo (Sam) Eck of Sammamish and Rick (Sandy) Stilwater of East Wenatchee; a sister, Cathryn Loga of Bremerton; 10 grandchildren, David and Stephanie Stokes, Gabrielle and Tiffany Stilwater, Brian and Lindsey Stilwater, Michael and Emily Eck and Matthew and Luke Stilwater; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bill, Nick and John; three sisters, Annie, Pauline and Sophie; her first husband, Allen Stokes in 1982; her second husband, Herman Stilwater in 2002; and a stepson, Thomas Stilwater in 1995.

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, from 3 until 8 p.m. at Keith and Keith Funeral Home, Yakima. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, 11 a.m. at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel with burial following at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
