killed in rollover

GRANDVIEW - A 29-year-old Prosser man, Ausencio S. Landa, died this past Sunday morning in a one-vehicle rollover accident on I-82, near milepost 72 outside the Grandview city limits.

Washington State Patrol troopers report that Landa was eastbound on I-82 at about 1 a.m. Sunday morning in a 1986 Nissan Maxima. Landa apparently lost control of his car. It veered into the median and rolled two or three times. He was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

According to the WSP, Landa was wearing a safety restraint.

Motorcyclist sustains injuries

OUTLOOK - An Outlook area man, 42, sustained injuries this past Saturday afternoon when the motorcycle he was driving struck his own dog.

The mishap occurred in the 1800 block of East Houghton Road, near Outlook.

The crash resulted in the motorcyclist being sent by ambulance to Sunnyside Community Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The dog sustained a fractured leg.
