TRINIDAD GARIBAY

Trinidad Garibay, 85, of Grandview died Oct. 13, 2005, at Hillcrest Manor, Sunnyside.

He was born in Mexico. He was a farm worker, who came to the Valley in 1989.

He is survived by three sons, Martin Garibay, Andres Garibay, Antonio Garibay; and one daughter, Maria Guadalupe Magona, all of Grandview.

A Rosary will be held Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at 6 p.m. at the Sunnyside Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, with burial to follow in the Grandview Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside.

AUSENCIO SAMANO LANDA

Ausencio Samano Landa, 29, of Grandview died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Ausencio was born on Oct. 7, 1976, in Mexico, the son of Raquel Ayer Samano and Ausencio Ceron Landa. He received his education, and worked, in Mexico.

He also worked in Grandview.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Magdalena Hernandez Garcia; two children; his parents of Mexico; one brother, Alejandro Landa of Grandview; and sister, Columba Landa of Prosser.

Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Grandview. Burial will be in Mexico.

NELLIE PEARL MCCAIN

Nellie Pearl McCain, 102, longtime Yakima Valley resident, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, at Park Side Nursing Care Center.

She was born Feb. 11, 1903, to Salonus and Imo (Seaman) Smith in Burwell, Neb. On Feb. 16, 1921, she married Glen McCain in Nebraska.

She is survived by three daughters, Bessie Sines, Donna Dorsett and husband, Roy, all of Yakima, and Lois Higgins of Grandview; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen McCain; one daughter, Faye Dunsmore; two grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters.

Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, from 12 to 5 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Grandview. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, with burial to follow at the Grandview Cemetery.

LUCIO RIVERA-TORRES

Lucio Rivera-Torres, a stillborn infant, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Sunnyside Community Hospital.

He is survived by his mother and father, Alma Rodrigues and Omar Rivera, both of Sunnyside.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, from noon to 2 p.m., with graveside services to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside.

Arrangements are under the direction of Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
