Two arrested, stolen items recovered

A citizen's phoned-in report, just after midnight Wednesday, to Sunnyside police of a car prowling in the 700 block of McClain Drive resulted in two arrests.

Officers Jaime Prieto and Oliver Hernandez arrested Fernando C. Gonzalez, 19, of Grandview, who was charged with third degree possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, second degree vehicle prowling and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Officers also arrested a 17-year-old male from Grandview. He was charged with second degree vehicle prowling, third degree possession of stolen property and driving without a valid operator's license.

According to officers, they recovered stereo equipment stolen earlier from another vehicle prowl in a different neighborhood.

According to Hernandez, the juvenile was released to his parents and charges will be forwarded to Juvenile Court. Gonzalez remains in custody in the Sunnyside Jail, awaiting arraignment.
