Republicans coming to valley to listen to people

House Republicans are traveling around the state on a listening tour, with the first stop to be in Yakima Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The town hall style meetings will focus on the public's concerns and ideas for the 2006 legislative session.

The Yakima session will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Yakima Chamber of Commerce, 10 North 9th Street.

"This listening tour is exactly that-listening to and reaching out to people. We're looking forward to hearing from people from all parts of the state," said House Republican leader Richard DeBolt, R-Chehalis. "So often we have people come visit us in district or in Olympia during session. This is a way to reciprocate those efforts and meet with people in their own areas."
