Bickleton girls drop season opener to Lyle

LYLE- The Bickleton High School girls volleyball team had a few shiny moments in Tuesday night's season opener in Lyle last night. But not enough bright moments as Lyle won the match in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-5 and 25-11.

"We just never lit up the place," said Tom Whitmore, the Bickleton girls coach.

The Lady Pirates were short two starters, with sophomore Ilsa Chapple a couple practices shy of the 10-practice rule and senior Corryn Raschko out for several weeks due to a knee injury.

Whitmore said the Lady Pirates have five returning players and four eighth graders competing this fall.

The Bickleton team will host the West Valley freshman volleyball squad Thursday night.
