Grandview girls keep improving

PULLMAN - The Grandview High School swim team traveled to Pullman this past Saturday to compete against Pullman, Prosser and Clarkston.

Carrying only two swimmers, sophomores LeAnn Pierce and Violet Buzzell are improving every meet.

"Both girls are doing awesome," Grandview swim coach Rhonda Baker said. For their first year competing they are improving every time out, she added. "They are taking on all of the challenges I give."

Pierce finished the 50 freestyle with a time of 43.50 and Buzzell followed with a time of 45.09.

In the 100 backstroke Pierce swam a 1:59.17 time and unfortunately, Buzzell was disqualified for an illegal stroke during the race.

The girls travel to Kennewick to meet the Tri-City Champs October 1st.

Because Grandview has only two swimmers, team scoring is not being kept this season.
