CONNELL - Grandview traveled to Connell this past Saturday to join 22 other teams at the Connell Invite.
Britnee Sanchez ran the 3.1 mile course in 19 minutes and 58 seconds, taking third place out of the 93 girls who competed.
Sanchez, the defending state champion, holds the record for the Connell course but is still recovering from an injury suffered last spring.
"Britnee injured her knee last track season and she's still trying to get back in shape," Grandview cross country Coach Jim Pillers said. "She's improving more and more each week."
Grandview had a complete boys team for the first time this year. They finished with 349 points. Chelan won with 110 points.
Jose Mendez had the best time for Grandview, finishing 21st out of 122 runners with a time of 17.54.
Marcos Diaz ran a time of 20.02, Kaelen Nelson had 21.02, Shay Seimeir with 21.05 and finishing up was Spencer Blanshan with a time of 22.05.
