Habitat for Humanity seeks local families

for new homes

The Yakima Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity group is currently searching for two or three families who want to become involved in its home ownership program.

The group works with low income families on constructing homes, where the partner families invest 500 hours of work on their houses, then purchase the home at cost through interest-free mortgages.

Since 1985, the local Habitat for Humanity group has built 105 homes in 11 Yakima Valley communities.

Currently, two or three families are sought to build homes in the Lower Yakima Valley area. Families interested in participating are asked to attend a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Roosevelt Elementary School in Granger.
