Grandview walks past Huskies in three-game match

GRANDVIEW - The Grandview Lady Greyhounds volleyball team didn't have too much to worry about going head-to-head with Othello Thursday night. Grandview was able to walk away from the match with a three-game sweep, improving the team's league record to 5-0.

Grandview beat Othello 25-15, 25-17, 25-3.

The Lady 'Hounds had no trouble going up against the Huskies. Grandview simply played its game and stayed well ahead of Othello.

During the match there was never any doubt that the Lady 'Hounds would walk away from the match unscathed, especially when it came to the quickly played third game. Grandview was able to keep Othello's score down, and sweep the match.

Helping the Lady 'Hounds put away Othello was setter Chante Bottineau, who had 21 assists, 7 passes, 1 kill, 10 service points and 2 aces. Also putting in a good showing for Grandview were sophomores Kealey Johnston and Katie Veloz. Johnston finished the night with 12 service points, 2 aces, 8 kills, 30 passes and 1 block, while Veloz racked up 16 service points, 3 aces, 8 passes and 1 assist.

Grandview will take to the court again Saturday at a volleyball tournament in Wenatchee. The team will return to regular play next Tuesday at Toppenish.
