I am writing this letter to support Bill Gant's candidacy for city council. I have known as a friend and worked professionally with Bill for more than 27 years.
I have also followed the dealing of the city council over those years and have watched it change, in my opinion for the worse. The arguing and bickering that goes on in many cases is unprofessional and non-productive to the issues that the council is there to solve for all the citizens of Sunnyside.
Bill Gant, as a retired principal and educator, is no stranger to dealing with tough issues. He dealt with them all of his professional life very successfully. He always listens to people, gathers all the facts he can about an issue and tries to solve them as fairly as he can. Listening to all people and gathering facts about what is best for Sunnyside is something Bill Gant will do and is something that I think some members of this council have either forgotten or never did from the time they were elected.
Bill Gant will make the effort to try and change the negative image that dealing with the City of Sunnyside or more importantly, dealing with the City Council, is non-productive and a thing to avoid.
The city has changed over the years and the issues that face Sunnyside need to be addressed in a more positive way. Bill Gant will help do this. He is honest, hard working, and above all else believes in fair play and has respect for all people.
If you want to see positive change and improvement in how Sunnyside's City Council operates, then I encourage you to support Bill Gant.
