School retirees to meet in Prosser

PROSSER - The Lower Yakima Valley unit of the Washington State School Retirees Association will meet at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, at the Golden Horse at 108 Merlot Drive in Prosser.

The program will be put on by teachers from the Lower Valley who've received grants. The grants given to area teachers were from $100 to $500. For more information call Susan Webber at 786-3990.

Pasture seminar, field day to be held in Selah

SELAH - Washington State University Extension and the Yakima County Cattlemen's Association are co-sponsoring a Pasture Seminar and Field Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, at 6810 N. Wenas Rd. in Selah.

The day will include demonstrations and educational programs by a variety of businesses, including K-Line Irrigation Systems, Gallager Fence Products and a number of other businesses. Lunch will be available for $5 per person.

Cattlemen's meeting to include educational program

SELAH - The Yakima County Cattlemen's Association meeting to be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, at Selah Mining Company restaurant, will include an educational presentation about Altosid-IGR.

Altosid is a new livestock oral product that has been proven effective in controlling flies. Manuel Vela, the regional account manager for Wellmark International, will give the presentation and be available to answer questions.
