Ruby Mae Miller, 94, of Prosser died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Sun Terrace Assisted Living in Prosser.
She was born Feb. 21, 1912 at Carroll, Neb. daughter of John and Anna Mae Davis. She grew up in the Welsh settlement of Carroll Community. She received her teaching certificate from Wayne State Teacher's College, at Wayne, Nebraska; she attended Eastern Oregon Teacher's College at LaGrande, Ore. She taught school in Nebraska, Oregon and Washington.
In 1945 she married Lee Miller and together they farmed in the Grandview area until they moved to Grandview in 1968. She was employed at the Old National Bank in Sunnyside. In 1951 she went back to teaching in Grandview and taught for many years; later substituted for more than 20 years in Lower Valley towns.
She is survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Miller in 1985; her parents; and a brother, Marvin in 1941.
Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at 1 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
