Michael Joseph Bowers, 25, of San Francisco, Calif. and a former Sunnyside resident was a victim of a violent crime on Thursday, March 30, 2006, in Bakersfield, Calif.

Michael was born April 5, 1980 in Prosser, the son of Marieanne Becker and adopted parents, Randy and Cassie Dalrymple. Michael received his education in Sunnyside. While in high school, Michael lettered in wrestling, track and received many trophies in weight lifting. Michael worked for Safeway in Sunnyside, Johnson Foods and Cliff Septic. In 2002 Michael enter the culinary art program at Moses Lake Job Corp Center. He then transferred to advance culinary training in the San Francesco Job Corp.

Michael was an avid New York Yankee fan, loved to ride motorcycles, WWF Wrestling, weight lifting, snowmobiling and riding skateboards.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sunnyside.

Michael is survived by his parents, Randy and Cassie Dalrymple of Sunnyside and Marieanne Becker of Seattle; two brothers, Philip Bowers of Seattle and C. J. Dalrymple of Sunnyside; four sisters, Renee Dalrymple, Rita Dalrymple, Melissa Dalrymple, all of Sunnyside, and Fatima Dilek of Seattle; grandparents, Sharon Costello, Tom and Coleen Hazzard, all of Sunnyside, and John and Jean Dalrymple of Yakima.

He was preceded in death by his father; an infant sister; and grandfather, Philip Becker.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Burial will follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside. Those wishing to honor Michael's memory may contribute to Sunnyside First Baptist Church Youth Camp Fund. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
