Jr. Indelook Club members to meet next Wednesday
Pat Barr’s home will be the site of next Wednesday’s Jr.
Indelook Club meeting.
The April 12 meeting will be co-hosted by Barbara Dillard.
Diana Monroe is in charge of the 7 p.m. program.
Pinewood Derby races this Saturday
More than 50 competitors are expected to vie for prizes this
Saturday, April 8, at the annual Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby in Sunnyside.
The sponsor of this year’s event is C. Speck Motors. The
races will be staged in the auto dealer’s show room, beginning at noon.
Community residents are encouraged to view this year’s races.
The 2006 Pinewood Derby will feature a computerized,
electronic track to measure race times. This year’s event will also include an
open class for family members of local Cub Scouts.
Refreshments will be offered to all participants.

Sunnyside Harrison Middle School eighth grade teacher
Rebecca Rodriguez will be featured on Sunday’s “Give Me the Mike” television
The TV show is set to air at 6:30 p.m. on KNDO and KNDU.
Set up much the same way as the popular and nationally
syndicated “American Idol” television show, contestants vie to impress the
judges and move on to the next round. Rodriguez will be performing No Doubt’s
song, “Spider Webs,” on the Sunday, April 9, airing.
“What’s nice about this round of competition,” said
Rodriguez, “is that if you don’t win, there will be voting by the television
viewers in mid-May for a wild card spot in the finals.”
to attend WSU summer program
Sunnyside PRIDE High School science teacher Teri
Alvarez-Ziegler has been accepted to be a participant in the Summer at WSU
Engineering Experiences for Teachers program.
The summer program is offered by the School of Chemical
Engineering and Bioengineering in Pullman. Annually, eight in-service and four
pre-service teachers are selected to participate. The participants in the
six-week program will work on engineering projects with faculty mentors.
