Viking baseball team loses to Tri City Prep

Mabton's baseball team tried to rally from a 5-0 deficit, but fell short in a 7-2 loss yesterday at Tri City Prep.

Trailing 5-0, the Vikings rallied with their only runs of the game in the top of the third on RBI singles by Tommy Bonewell and Zach Peralez.

Tri City answered with two in the bottom of the third to close out scoring for the game.

Bonewell, Mabton's pitcher, only gave up three earned runs for the game, noted Coach Andy Dyer. "We made too many mistakes in the first inning and could not catch up," he said.

Mabton returns to action this Friday at home against Lyle.
