Margarita Valencia, 76, of Sunnyside passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Sunnyside Community Hospital.

She was born July 20, 1929 in Mexico to Guadalupe and Mercedes Castillo. She spent her early years and married Eudosio Valencia in Mexico, later moving to California. In 1976 the Valencia family moved to the Yakima Valley.

She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside.

Margarita cherished time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Eudosio Valencia of Sunnyside; her children, Jesus Valencia (Guadalupe) of West Valley, Gabriel Valencia (Lori), Maria Rodriguez (Carlos) and Rosa Magallon (Gerardo), all of Texas, Carolina Alvarez (Antonio), Aurelia Espinza (Felipe Jr.), Joe Valencia (Mayra) and Gloria Sanchez (Miguel), all of Sunnyside, Lupe Valencia of Prosser, and Maggie Alvarez (Manuel) of Oregon; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Guadalupe Galvan of Mexico; and three brothers, Ramon Castillo and Jesus Castillo, both of California and Santos Castillo of Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters; three sons; and one brother.

Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, April 17, 2006, from 10 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside. Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
