Baseball leagues now registering

Sunnyside Recreation is now accepting registration for baseball, girls softball, coach pitch and t-ball.

The leagues are open to boys and girls ages five through 12. The deadline to sign up is Thursday, May 4.

The fee is $20 for in-city kids and $26 for non-city kids. Each child will receive a t-shirt and a baseball cap.

The Sunnyside Recreation office is located at the Sunnyside Community Center at 1521 S. 1st Street. For more information call Sunnyside Recreation at 837-8660.

Pepsi pitch, hit and run to be held in Sunnyside

The Pepsi pitch, hit and run, a free national baseball competition, will be held at South Hill Park on Saturday, May 13.

The program is open to boys and girls. There will be five age groups. The groups will 7 to 8 years old, 9 to 10 years old, 11 to 12 years old and 13 to 14 years old.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and the event will start at 10 a.m.

Volunteers are needed to score the competition. Anyone interested in volunteering should call Sunnyside Recreation at 837-8660.

Spring ball coming soon

Sunnyside Recreation and the Sunnyside VICA Club are inviting everyone aged 55 and over to enjoy the annual senior-junior spring ball Sunday, April 30, from 2-4:30 p.m., at the Sunnyside High School gym.

This free dance for seniors is held the Sunday after prom and all the beautiful prom decorations are left in place for the senior dance.

Refreshments will be provided. For more information call 837-8660.
