‘Garden Party’ theme of meeting for local women
PROSSER – Those who attend the Monday, May 15, meeting of
the Lower Valley Christian Women’s Club are asked to bring a small plant in a
creative container for a plant exchange.
It’s all part of the “Garden Party” theme that day, which
will include an “Over the Rainbow Melodies” performance from songwriter and
recording artist Debbie Skinner, as well as an inspirational talk by Marilyn
Smith of Grants Pass, Ore.. Smith, a retired critical care RN, will speak about
how she was always chasing rainbows but only found frustration, depression and
anxiety until finding her dream in the one place she never looked.
Reservations for the 11:30 a.m. luncheon meeting, to be held
at Prosser’s Barn Restaurant, can be made by calling 882-2365 or 894-4610.
Community days meeting in Mabton scheduled May 4
MABTON – The first organizational meeting for this year’s
Mabton Community Days festival has been scheduled for Thursday, May 4, at 6
p.m. at Mabton City Hall.
One of the event leaders, Connie Beeman, said numerous
volunteers are being sought to help plan for this year’s festival.
“Anyone and everyone interested in helping plan for this
year’s community days celebration are invited to be at the May 4 meeting,”
Beeman said the intention is to set a date for the festival
at the first organizational meeting on May 4.

an American Red Cross blood drawing on Monday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
All those 17 years of age and older and in good health are
