Death Notices



Rachel Thomas Greenhalgh, 86, a long-time Grandview resident died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Alterra Wynwood in Richland.

She was born July 15, 1919 in Goshen, Utah, the daughter of Charles Edwin and Mary Ann (Finch) Thomas. She received her education at Tintic High School in Eureka, Utah. She married Dix Clifton Greenhalgh on March 9, 1940 in Eureka.

She is survived by three sons, Phillip Greenhalgh of Yakima, Richard Greenhalgh (Stella), of Bakersfield, Calif., and Franklin Greenhalgh (Hannele) of Bristol, England; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Opal Bee of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dix Greenhalgh, in 1999; one son, Charles Greenhalgh, in 1973; and three brothers, Bert, Philip and Bernell Thomas.

Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, April 30, 2006, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2006, at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sunnyside. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.


A memorial service will be held for Mark Stephen Culp, Friday, April 28, 2006, at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Convent Chapel, 904 S. 6


St., Sunnyside. Those wishing to honor his memory are invited to attend.
