Karen Marie Leija, 30, of Grandview went to be in the arms of her Savior Saturday, July 12, 2006, at Prosser Memorial Hospital. Karen was born April 29, 1976 in Beach, N.D., the daughter of Charles and Sandra (Snow) Dietz. Karen received her elementary education in North Dakota and completed her education in Sunnyside. Since 1996 Karen has worked at L & L Drive In, Grandview. In March of 2001, Karen married her high school sweetheart, Dylan Leija, in Grandview.

Karen's life revolved around her family and friends, enjoying camping, fishing, shopping, walking, arts and crafts and singing and listening to gospel music. Karen loved attending and was a member of the Kennewick Church of the Nazarene and the Grandview Church of the Nazarene.

Karen is survived by her husband, Dylan Leija; two children, Jacob Anthony Leija and Rebecca Marie Leija, all of Grandview; her parents, Charles and Sandra Dietz of Kennewick; a brother, Charles T. Dietz of Silver City, NM; her grandmother, Ramona Snow of Arlington, S.D.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Grace Dietz and Robert Snow.

Memorial funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006, at 3:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Sunnyside, which is in charge of arrangements.
