Thefts in Sunnyside yesterday, Aug. 22, ranged from a shoplifting at Wal-Mart to the theft of an orange Bush Hog RZ60 Razorback. That's a mower, to the initiated folks, and it was taken from a resident in the 400 block of West Maple Street. The owner supplied
Sunnyside police with a picture and the serial number of the machine. The loss was reported at 3:35 p.m. Anyone who has information about this missing hog or any other crime is asked to call the police department at 836-6211.
The shoplifting incident was reported by Wal-Mart at 11:36 a.m. yesterday where the suspect, a boy wearing tan shorts, white shirt and white shoes, ran off with a box. It was not known what the box contained.
Sometime during Tuesday night a maroon 1995 Dodge Stratus was stolen from a residence in the 400 block of West Maple Street. That theft was reported this morning (Wednesday) at 5:20 a.m.
From 8:04 a.m. yesterday to 7:08 a.m. this morning, officers also investigated an abandoned vehicle, an automatic alarm, two animal problems, two fights, one report of harassment, one missing person, one 911 hang-up call, one runaway juvenile, seven suspicious people, two traffic problems and one report of vandalism.
They also served an arrest warrant and two court orders, gave an assist to an agency and one to a resident, provided an extra patrol, made a check on the welfare of a resident and received five informational calls.
