Educational Service District 105, which provides educational support to an area that includes Lower Valley school districts, will have some technical updates, thanks to an agreement approved yesterday by Yakima County commissioners.
Mike Vachon, the county's senior manager for geographic information systems, said ESD 105 will pay no more than $15,000 to the county under terms of the contract.
Vachon said his department will provide ESD 105 with an improved computer program to streamline ESD staff's access to student data.
In addition, Vachon said the contract calls for Yakima County to develop an internet-based program for ESD 105's information.
ESD 105 supports the educational needs of staff and students in 25 school districts, as well as private schools, in a four-county area known as South Central Washington.
