DEBBIE HELEN STOTT VELOZ

Debbie Helen Stott Veloz, 43, of Prosser died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006.

She was born in San Jose, Calif., the daughter of William Franklin and Helen Marie (O’Leary) Stott. She received her early education in California. She graduated with the Prosser High School class of 1981. While attending Yakima Valley Nursing Program at YVCC, she also worked as a C.N.A. and L.P.N. at Prosser Hospital. After earning her R.N. Degree she worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Yakima from 1987-1995. She also was a nursing supervisor at Sunnyside Community Hospital and worked for Lower Valley Hospice and Tri-City Home Health. Due to failing health she was forced to retire this year.

She is survived by her husband, Ruben Veloz of Prosser; one son, Brian Michael Stott; three stepchildren, Steve (Lisa) Veloz, and Michael Veloz, all of Prosser, and Angie (O.J.) Schubert of Albuquerque, N.M.; her mother, Helen Marie O’Leary and father, William F. Stott Sr.; one brother, William F. Stott Jr.; a sister, Patty (Leon Jr.) Stafford, all of Prosser; three grandchildren; her grandmother, Helen Doxtater of New York; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Helen O’Leary, and William Stott; her mother-in-law, Elena Veloz; a grandson, Ryan Veloz; and one sister, Mary Stott.

Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, from 1 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Grandview. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Prosser, with burial to follow at East Prosser Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Grandview.
