Gordon Emile Blechschmidt, 88, of Grandview died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, in Yakima.
He was born May 9, 1918 in Oakville to Oscar and Jessie (Harris) Blechshmidt. He graduated from Oakville High School and received his Bachelors' and law degree from the University of Washington. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Blechschmidt practiced law in Grandview until 1983.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Blechschmidt; son, Geoffrey A. Blechschmidt (Kathy) of Centralia; daughter, Ginger G. Gallagher (Richard) of Tacoma; two sisters, Betty Kroll and Shirley Hanson; a brother, John Blechschmidt; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Jessie Blechschmidt; three sisters, Ruth Baker, Agnes Conrad and Aileen Buckner; and three brothers, Karl Blechschmidt, Bud Blechschmidt, and Paul Blechschmidt.
At Mr. Blechschmidt's request there will be no public memorial service.
