Breaking News: Outlook residents escape harm in drive-by shooting



Betty A. Bucio, 41, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at Sunnyside Community Hospital in Sunnyside.

Betty was born in Mckinney, Texas on April 13, 1965 to Elisa (Ramirez) and Ernesto Martinez. She grew up in Sunnyside and received her education here.

Betty enjoyed working with children and she worked in the schools and in childcare. She especially enjoyed working with the ladies at Harriet Thompson Elementary School in Grandview. She also enjoyed going to the casino with her mother and boyfriend, Fred Camacho of Sunnyside. Betty liked going out on weekends with longtime best-friend, Terri Dalrymple of Sunnyside. She loved Tejano music and could sit in her room and watch the Lifetime channel all day, if you let her.

Betty is survived by her son, Angel Bucio of Grandview; two daughters, Sylvia Bucio and Roxanna Martinez, both of Sunnyside; her mother, Elisa Martinez of Sunnyside; her father, Ernesto Martinez and stepmother, Lupe, of Plymouth; and six brothers, Martin and Tony Martinez of Sunnyside, Larry, Vincent and Jimmy Martinez of the Tri-Cities, and Carlos Martinez of Florida.

Viewing for Betty A. Bucio was held Monday, Dec. 4, 2006 and will be held Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. A rosary will follow from 6 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Grandview, with burial to follow in Grandview City Cemetery. Valley Hills Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
