Cadets march to win over Sunnyside girls

A dominating 446 two-game series by Jennifer Mosebar propelled the Eisenhower Cadets to a 3-1 victory over the Sunnyside High School girls bowling team yesterday afternoon.

Mosebar rolled a match best 235 in the opening game to spark Ike to an 856-604 win to open the match. Getting a 211 from Mosebar in the second game, the Cadets picked up their second win on the afternoon via an 811-627 score.

Sunnyside fired back to take the first of two Baker games, 164-133. The Baker format calls for each member of the five-girl squads to alternate taking shots throughout the 10 frames. Ike secured the match victory with a 190-135 decision in the second Baker game.

In addition to Mosebar's 446 two-game series, Ike got a 333 series from Erin Purdy (172-161) and 321 from Melissa Pharmer (162-159).

In the losing cause, Sunnyside was led by senior Veronica Uribe. She tossed a 136 in the opener and rolled a 144 in the second game.

Yesterday's loss dropped Sunnyside's record to 1-7 on the season.

In JV action Thursday at Sunnyside's Valley Lanes, in which Eisenhower claimed a 4-0 victory, the junior varsity Lady Grizzlies were led by Challea Bussert (119-141), Veronica Tlatelpa (105-116) and Maleesha Maltos (111-104).
