Two callers to the Sunnyside Police Department reported sighting the two remaining jail escapees, Ernesto Gallegos and Aaron Garcia, over the weekend.
The first caller called from her cell phone while at Wal-Mart. She stated she had thought she saw the escapees, one in a Raiders jacket and the other had multiple tattoos on his face. However, upon investigation, the police were unable to locate the individuals described.
The second call reporting a sighting of the two remaining escapees came from a party who claimed to have seen the two escapees at Fiesta Foods on Saturday. No further information was able to be obtained. The police were unable to substantiate the report.
There were a total of four burglaries reported over the weekend.
- A back door was kicked in at a residence in the 500 block of Reeves Way on Friday evening.
- Juveniles were seen breaking into an apartment in the 400 block of Cemetery Road Friday evening.
- A computer was stolen from a business located in the 2200 block of East Edison Avenue Saturday morning.
- A sound system was reported stolen in the 900 block of South Sixth Street on Saturday afternoon.
Nine thefts were reported from Friday evening through Sunday evening. There were reports of a six foot lawn decoration stolen from a yard in the 600 block of Crescent Ave. and a 1991 Honda Accord stolen from Ismo Loop included in the thefts.
Three alarms, five animal problems, one assault, one citizen dispute, two civil problems, two custodial interference calls, one disorderly conduct, four fights, two graffiti reports, four harassments, four juvenile problems, five loud music complaints, two 9-1-1 hang ups, two runaway juveniles, 11 suspicious person and/or circumstances, six traffic problems, one trespassing, five vandalism reports, seven warrants served, six agency assists, two found property calls, one welfare check and five information calls were among the many activities the police were involved in this weekend.
