New singles group forms here

GRANDVIEW - Are you single and over the age of 50? Are you lonely and looking for some companionship? Then maybe Nina Randle has the answer for you.

Randle and her friend Linda Davis are forming a 50+ singles club for people who aren't necessarily looking for love but want to find companions to hang out with and take trips.

"We like to travel," Randle said. "Usually two to three times a month."

Randle and Davis are members of Kosmos, a singles group in the Tri-Cities. Randle lives in Grandview and Davis resides in Kennewick and both thought it would be a good idea to have a group like the one in the Tri-Cities in the Lower Valley.

"We want to have a fun group and enjoy ourselves," Randle added. "It will be nice to have a group over here."

She said the unnamed group will meet every Tuesday at Eli and Kathy's restaurant in Grandview at 6 p.m., during the month of January. The group will change locations every month, "so things don't get stagnant."

"During the first two meetings we will pick a name for ourselves," Randle said. "We want to start out by getting to know each other first."

She said the 50+ singles won't be doing too much traveling during the winter months but did say the group will go see a Tri-Cities Americans hockey game and Magician David Copperfield next month, both in the Tri-Cities.

"We'll start going places in the spring," she said. "Places like games and plays."

She also said the group will have game nights, with a different member hosting the occasion each time.

"Occasionally there will be a trip by bus," Randle added.

People interested in joining the group can call Randle at 882-4002 or just show up at Eli and Kathy's.

"Whoever comes will never be turned away," she promised.
