Thefts, cars thefts reported in S'side

Several thefts were reported in Sunnyside over the weekend.

The first theft was reported at 12:34 p.m on Dec. 29 in the 700 block of McClain Drive. The reporting person's stereo had been taken from a 1997 Chevy Cavalier.

The second theft was reported at 2:59 p.m. on Dec. 29. Two items were stolen from Wal-Mart. Police arrested a woman, who was charged with two counts of third-degree theft.

A car stereo was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Valley Raquet and Fitness in the 700 block of Scoon Road, on Dec. 29. The theft was reported at 7:26 p.m. that day. The vehicle's window had been broken.

A burglary was reported on Dec. 30 at 5:56 p.m. in the 2300 block of Lincoln Avenue. The reporting party caught an unknown male inside the house. He appeared to be a Hispanic male in his late 20s.

A vehicle was broken into in the 800 block of Miller Avenue at 11:47 p.m. on Dec. 30. Nothing of value was taken.

Police received a report of a stolen car from the 1300 block of Saul Road on Dec. 30. The call came in at 10:06 p.m. The car was a Chevy Beretta.

Police received a report of a stolen car from the 1700 block of Jersey Street on Sunday morning, Jan 1. at 10:54. The car was a Chevy Lumina.

On Sunday, police received a report of a theft in the 2600 block of Lincoln Avenue. Police detained a 14-year-old boy for shoplifting.

This morning (Monday) at 6:09 a woman reported that a window had been broken at Valley Lanes in the 1800 block of East Gregory Aveune. The woman reported that the rock used to break the window was still at the scene.
