Pauline Easley Smith, 91, of Sunnyside died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at Pleasant Valley Adult Home, where she was residing.

She was born Oct. 17, 1914 in Spearville, Kansas to Walter R. and Emma Amanda Melvina (Simpson) Easley. She married William J Smith on Nov. 19, 1934 in Trinidad, Colo. She resided in the Yakima Valley since 1941, living in Sunnyside and Granger.

Pauline is survived by her five children, Jeanine Pace of Salt Lake City, Utah, Martha Burke of Port Angeles, Reva (Sheldon) Nitchman of Parachute, Colo., Elizabeth Smith of Syracuse, NY and William (Janet) Smith of Prosser; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four sisters; and a brother.

Viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, and Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, from noon until 1 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Factory Road in Sunnyside. Interment will follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.  The family would like to thank Kathy, Lourdes and the staff of Pleasant Valley Adult Home for the care they gave mom in her time of need.
