Marguerite DeVoe, 87, of Grandview passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006.

She was born Dec. 28, 1918 in Woodland to Ester and Bruce Hamilton. Marguerite graduated from Woodland High School in 1936. On May 6, 1939 she married Grant DeVoe in Woodland. In 1980 Marguerite retired after working 30 years for the Hamilton Agency in Grandview.

She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grandview, a member of the Eastern Star and AU Chapter PEO.

Marguerite and Grant spent many happy years traveling with Central Washington Travelers RV Club around the Northeast and Canada. She had lived at Orchard House Assistant living for four years with her good friend, Ann Bender.

Marguerite’s family would like to thank the staff at Orchard House for the excellent care she received.

Marguerite is survived by her son, Gary DeVoe and his wife, Cheryl, of Grandview; one granddaughter, Debbie Bos and husband, Dave; one grandson, Greg DeVoe; and four great-grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Rachel and Jeff. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Elosie DeVoe Davis of California; and a niece, Sharon Fitch of Escondido, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Grant, in 1998. A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Grandview Bethany Presbyterian Church. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bethany Presbyterian Church. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
