Two people injured in car, truck accident

Two people were injured on South Wapato Road in an accident Friday, Jan. 20, involving a car and a Freightliner semi truck, driven by Daniel J. Myers, 51, of Outlook, who was not injured in the crash.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Richard L. Neuroth, 71, was driving south on South Wapato Road when he failed to slow for traffic at a stop light. His 2001 Chevrolet pickup struck the semi driven by Myers.

Neuroth and a passenger in his car, Irene F. Hauser, 67, were transported to Yakima Memorial Hospital.

Neuroth's pickup was totaled and towed from the accident scene. Damage to Myers' semi was minimal, and it was driven away.
