The Jesus Arenas family escaped unharmed from a fire in their Granger home this past Saturday.
A smoke alarm alerted the two adults and three children to the fire, which was burning in an interior wall and the attic.
Nine Granger firefighters made an aggressive attack on the burning interior, limiting fire damage to the bathroom and kitchen wall and ceiling.
According to Fire Chief Ken Shipman, there was smoke damage throughout the house and total damage was estimated at $20,000. He received the call at 6:07 p.m., and the fire was under control by 6:48 p.m.
"The fire cause was electrical," Shipman reported. He said the Arenas family found shelter with family and friends.
