PASCO - The Sun Valley 13-year-old Babe Ruth baseball team from Sunnyside made it a game for three innings, before losing 13-4 at Pasco on Thursday.
Sun Valley trailed just 3-2 heading into the bottom of the fourth, when Pasco batted around for six runs to blow the game open.
Sun Valley Coach Jaime Garcia said a combination of Pasco hitting and his team's errors led to the fourth-inning outburst.
To its credit, Sun Valley tried to make it a game in the fifth, pushing across two runs to make it a 9-4 deficit. Pasco responded in their half of the fifth with four runs to slam the door.
Josh Romero was 2-for-2 at the plate with two stolen bases, a run scored and an RBI for Sun Valley.
Sun Valley, 0-4, travels to Richland next Monday and Tuesday for its next contests.
