Wood cashes at PGA pro-am

CHELAN - Derek Wood was the lone Black Rock Creek Golf Course team member to cash at this past Monday's PGA pro-am at Chelan's Bear Mountain Ranch.

The June 12 tournament, the 12th of 24 pro-ams being sponsored this summer by the Central Washington chapter of the PGA, drew a field of 145 professional and amateur golfers.

Wood tied for fourth place honors in the net scoring column (actual score minus handicap) among amateur division #2 golfers. He shot a handicap-aided 74. The low net round in his division was a 2-under 70, scored by Howard McMillen of Lake Chelan Golf Course.

The winner of Monday's professional division was Von Smith of the host Bear Mountain Ranch course. He carded a 3-under-par 69.

The low amateur round was turned in by Mike Rogers of Pasco's Golf Universe-a 1-under-par 71.
